About the event

Both Sound Healing and Yoga Nidra are beautiful forms of meditation and energetic therapy that bring the receiver to a place of complete relaxation and peace. Enjoyed together, the practitioner is guided to a state of equilibrium and harmony, in body, mind, and spirit.

You are lovingly invited to join Lyn Hatton, owner of Serenity at Sunset, and Megan Schlobohm, owner of Anderson Yoga Center, for a unique offering of Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing on Saturday, December 7 at 1pm. Cost is $20 per person, and pre-registration is required, as seating is limited. Students are encouraged to dress comfortably and bring pillows and blankets, and perhaps a yoga mat to rest on during the experience. Students will be guided through a short period of gentle movement, breath awareness, and then the Yoga Nidra Meditation with Megan, while Lyn soothes the soul with Singing Bowls and other Sound Healing elements.

Sound Healing...

Since the 1100’s, singing bowl therapy has been used for rituals and meditation in the Tibetan culture. Surrender to the profoundly penetrating tones of the Himalayan bowls. Begin to release the emotions no longer serving you.  Allow the resonant frequencies to bring you into a deep state of relaxation and stress relief. Welcome a deeper level of emotional and physical well-being. With the assistance of the singing bowls, gong and chimes, all this and more is possible. Join me to indulge a sense of peace through this ancient practice. Lyn will be guiding the sound healing, and is a certified and licensed vibrational sound therapist.

Yoga Nidra Meditation...

Dating back to around 800 to 500 BCE, Yoga Nidra Meditation comes from the Upanishads, the ancients texts of Yoga. Meaning "Dynamic Sleep," Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation which includes a full body scan, where every cell in the body relaxes, tapping into a level of consciousness that is somewhere in between awake and asleep. Megan is an ERYT200 Yoga Instructor, and is certified in guiding Yoga Nidra.

Both Sound Healing and Yoga Nidra have been proven to reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression; shown positive effects to the circulatory system, the nervous system, the immune system, and the endocrine system; and has helped many people with symptoms of PTSD.
